Qatar, WCF Hold Meeting

Doha, July 11 (QNA) - HE Assistant Foreign Minister for Follow-Up Affairs Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Rumaihi met here on Sunday with President of the World Chambers Federation Anthony Parker, in the presence of representatives from the Interior Ministry, Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI), General Authority for Tourism and Director General of International Chamber of Commerce Remy Rowhani.
HE Al-Rumaihi during the meeting gave a briefing about Qatar's capacity to host the Eighth International Conference of the World Federation of Chambers of Commerce 2013,  in Doha. Qatar will present its hosting file on September 15, 2010 in the French capital Paris.  The final voting for selecting the host country will be held in December 2, 2010.
He Rumaihi  said  that the State of Qatar had successfully hosted an number of events and global conferences, for example, citing in this regard the Asian Games 2006, the Donors Conference, the Conference on Human Rights, the Round of WTO talks, the Tribeca Film Festival, the International Conference for regulating trade in endangered species (CITES)  and Exhibition Internal Security (Milipol).
The Assistant Foreign Minister for Follow Up Affairs also reviewed the distinguished facilities being provided by Qatar to promote understanding and cooperation through the chambers of commerce as it has the infrastructure to set up such conferences and events worldwide.
For his part, Anthony Parker praised the development Qatar was currently witnessing on all levels.(QNA)
